Hi, I'm Mel the owner of Home Care To Me, Bunbury Geographe.
I've had over 5 years experience in Aged Care and Disability Care, both in facility care and the community. I have a background in Dementia care and love my job. I've met so many amazing people through this line of work, either as participants or staff. I've met people from all over the world, with different cultural and religious backgrounds and lets face it, the Bunbury Geographe region is one of the most beautiful places to work too.
I started my journey working independently after reporting numerous incident and abuse cases in the facility I worked in and nothing being done. I'm really committed to making sure all of our team have access to do all the training available for us, and the latest research. But to be honest, all the training in the world won't help if you don't have the time and resources to do your job. I love working independently and knowing our clients are getting our full attention, care and expertise.
I'm really committed to making sure all of our clients feel valued and supported. I want our support workers to feel supported to do their job properly and be paid a living wage that reflects their skills and training.
In my spare time I love gardening, murder mysteries and enjoying the South West with my family.
