Image ID: A Woman with dark hair, jeans and grey top is drinking tea and smiling looking towards another woman with fair hair, black and white striped top and jeans who is talking, they are both sitting relaxed in a living room A meet and greet is just a home visit to see if we are a good fit for you personality wise, see if there is anything else that you may need support in, equipment we may need to familarise ourselves with, or hazards to do a risk assessment on. We offer a FREE 45 minute meet and greet. Usually the order of events looks something like this. Step 1 – You have posted an ad on a local forum or contacted us directly for support Step 2 – We are available the days and times you need and have the training and certification needed for your care Step 3 – A DRAFT service agreement (contract) is made and bought to the meet and greet and is usually also emailed to you. Step 4 – The meet and greet. We bring a draft service agreement to our meet and greet, this is a great opportunity to go through all the tasks required during our shift, what equipment or consumables we will be providing and what will you be providing, the days and times of the shifts, the costs of services. There is also some legal obligations we have, and need to make you aware of such as, we need to take progress notes about our shift, a copy is given to you. We need to adhere to all state and federal laws, we are mandatory reporters, meaning if we have any suspicion of abuse we need to report within 24 hours etc. It's a really good idea to have all of this worked out before starting. That’s not saying there isn’t room for improvement or changes later. If your condition changes or you need additional days or hours or need to swap days permanently, situations like that can be put in a new agreement or amendment of an agreement. We also have a file for you to sight of all our certificate III, insurances, police clearances and training. A copy of these, along with the final service agreement will be sent to your plan manager as part of our onboarding with them. A meet and greet should be a casual, relaxed visit to just have a chat and see if we will be a good fit for you. We will be in your home, possibly assisting with personal care, possibly traveling with you in cars and other close environments, you need to feel comfortable. It’s also important to note, no support work happens during a meet and greet. We are not covered by insurance until we have a signed service agreement, and it has been processed by your plan manager. So we are unable to commence services until then. We are not offended if we are not the right fit for you this time. The most important thing is that you are getting the best care possible.
